Danish-Norwegian Army 1803-14
28mm figures designed by Alan Perry
First I'd like to thank Jorgen k. Larsen, David Wilson, Peter Bunde and Torstein Snorrason for all their work behing the scenes tracking down elusive information on this army.
This colourful army fought the British in 1807 outside Copenhagen but lost being a mostly militia force. In 1809 they fought alongside Dutch troops in Swedish Pomerania against the Schill uprising. In 1813 they fought against the Prussians, Russians and Swedes and finally in 1814 the Norwegians fought off another Swedish invasion.
The Danish and Norwegian uniforms and regulations were practically the same during this period as the two nations were in close union.
For more information on the uniforms and organisation on this army we recommend Peter Bunde's Brigade Plates www.brigade-uniform-plates.de
The blog site blundersonthedanube.blogspot.co.uk is great for more info on the campaigns the army took part in.
